Thermowood Aspen Rhombus 25 x 75 mm
Thermally modified aspen wood for terraces, fences, balconies, facades or sauna construction is ecological, durable, aesthetic, rot-resistant and resistant to fungal attack.
Thermally modified wood (or thermowood) is the product of a process for treating solid wood. It is a purely natural process in which heat and steam are used to permanently modify the wood. The wood becomes more rot resistant, dimensionally stable and weather resistant.
Thermowood is a valuable alternative to tropical wood and WCP because it has many advantages: 100% chemical-free and recyclable. Thermowood has reduced surface temperature in strong sunlight, low tendency to warp and twist, and no resin galls.
Outdoor planks can turn grey over time. This greying is caused by UV rays and is a natural process due to sunlight. However, the greying of the wood has no effect on its durability. To preserve the colouring of the wood for longer, we recommend oiling the wood at least once after installation, and then once a year.
Minimal stress cracks are also possible in thermally treated wood. These are normally 1-2 mm wide and cannot be limited to a specific length. The occurrence of such cracks is quite normal and not a reason for complaint.
